Covid-19, faith, family, and vitamins
These last few months have taught me so much about Covid-19, faith, family, and vitamins.
It all started with a small ripple…
My husband woke up one morning not feeling well.
The next morning, my youngest son wasn’t feeling well.
Anytime anyone says they don’t feel well, it automatically sets off that little alarm in your head….could this be the dreaded Covid-19?
The next day, my son and husband were extremely sick and I was feeling so fatigued and foggy that I could hardly function.
And it just seemed to get worse day by day.
Then my older son also became sick.
Yup, what we’d been dreading was finally here. We were down for the count with Covid.
I wish I could say that it was just a bad cold and quickly subsided. However, it just lingered and lingered. A few weeks later and we all still felt as if we were living in a fog.
The fatigue was debilitating, to say the least.
So while we all lounged around, hardly able to move, we relied strongly on our faith.
Having moved pretty recently, we have no friends or family in the area. Besides my aunt continually checking in on us via telephone, we felt very alone and isolated.
I did a lot of research on vitamins, and we mega-dosed ourselves. Learning didn’t stop just because we were under the weather. More proof that Learning Is A Way Of Life.
Being down and out, and totally alone, caused each of us to do some major soul-searching.
Even though it’s been a few months now, none of us escaped un-scarred for life.
Most of us have our senses of taste and smell back. My husband lost a couple of close co-workers who did not survive this virus. It’s taken quite a devastating toll on all of us.
Through the fear, distress, and discomfort of this ordeal, there was a bright cloud for all of us.
We each re-committed certain areas of our lives that we were struggling with to God.
We grew closer as a family than I could have even imagined.
We’ve also renewed our interest and belief in the healing properties of vitamins and herbs.
So while I haven’t been able to write a blog post in quite a while, I’m still committed to providing encouragement to others. This time off has taught me so much about Covid-19, faith, family, and vitamins.
