Learning Is A Way Of Life.
I’ve spent a good portion of this quarantined period of my life thinking.
And I mean REALLY really thinking.
You know the kind of thinking that I mean?
The kind of thinking that makes you dig down deep inside of yourself.
The kind of thinking that has you evaluating who you really are, what you truly believe, and what genuinely brings you joy.
Learning Is A Way Of Life.
As a busy unschooling mom of 4 for the last 20+ years, and an in-home daycare provider for the last 10+years, taking time to REALLY think has not been on my priority list.
Sure, I’ve spent countless hours thinking about ways to encourage the children in my life; thinking about activities the children would enjoy; and thinking about ways to inspire children to develop a true love of learning.
But, taking time to think about how my life has changed since I first became a parent, or about what inspires and drives ME, had not even occurred to me.
I was too busy living life to slow down and soul search.
So after almost a year of slowing down, and letting go of expectations and routines, I’ve finally become comfortable with my own values, feelings, hopes, and dreams.
As I’ve been reflecting on my life and my family’s unschooling journey, I am more convinced than ever that Learning Is A Way Of Life.
Not only that, but Learning Is A Way Of Life for not only children but for us adults also.
I think that I had forgotten how much fun learning truly is.
One day, while hiking with my son, it hit me that I’d really like to plant an herb garden.
Gardening is not something that I am familiar with at all.
That afternoon when we got home, I poked around on Pinterest and found some great ideas involving herb garden planting.
I then started researching herbs.
Which to grow together, which to avoid, do they need sun or shade, and other questions about herb gardening.
I cannot even count how many articles I read, videos I watched, and sketches I drew.
I finally think I’m just about ready to start this adventure next week!
I’ve learned so much and it’s sparked a new love for absorbing knowledge back into my soul, and once again confirmed my belief that
Learning Is A Way Of Life.
Have you enjoyed learning any new skills during this year-long quarantine?

This is what we believe in our homeschool! It’s not just about dates and facts, but it’s all learning really does have to be a way of life!
